I love helping people build relationships across divides. I work for people who are called to build relationships across divides and help others to build relationships across divides.

Travis is one such person. For the past year, he has been helping lead our Unity Meals & The Human Collective event in South Minneapolis. It involves us building relationships with neighbors who are experiencing homelessness and drug addiction.

Yesterday, a neighbor came up to him and said, "Do you remember me?" Travis responded gently, "Yes." The neighbor clarified, "A couple of weeks ago you gave the hat off of your own head." Travis said, "I do things like that, sometimes." (Travis does the loving thing without thinking about it.) The man went on, "No one has ever given me anything, and you gave me your hat. That day I stopped using Crack.

I'm constantly reminded how simple acts of kindness make space for people who are hurting to let go of things that aren't serving them.

Travis, it's a joy to be your brother and friend!
